Villa Jovis, Capri

Villa Jovis, Capri

Villa Jovis was built by the Roman Emperor Tiberius who chose to live in and reign from Capri from 27-37 AD. It covers approx. 7000 sqm and is the largest of the 12 villas built by Roman Emperors in Capri (Augustus and Tiberius).
View from Villa Jovis back towards Capri Town and the Monte Solaro
This is a nice morning walk to be reached from Capri Town after about one hour and a half, with breathtaking views, sights and scents of Mediterranean macchia all over the way. But watch this picture collection to get an impression on the size of this palace. Can you imagine what the gardens have looked like here (to be continued..)
the view!!!
